This fragrance is a story of memory and revival. It is inspired by the Jadu’I, the legendary ba’al succulent watermelon of Jenin, a symbol of Palestinian agricultural resilience that was nearly lost to occupation and hybrid replacement. For generations, the Jadu’I was not just a crop; it was a cornerstone of culture—a generous fruit under whose vines stories were told, refuge was found, and generations were sustained. This scent is an olfactory tribute to its journey back from the brink.
The fragrance opens with the essence of the Jadu’I itself: the sweet, juicy heart of watermelon, kissed by the sun of Jenin. This is layered with a bright splash of key lime and a faint trace of sea salt, evoking the distant Mediterranean breeze and the tears of a memory almost forgotten.
At its heart, the scent unfolds like a field coming back to life. The cool resilience of mint sprigs and blue basil pushes through the earth, while the delicate bloom of beach lily represents the fragile yet persistent hope of a new generation nurturing what was once lost.
The dry-down is a profound and moving base of ocean mist and soft musk—the lingering presence of history and prayer on the land. A final, gentle note of sugarcane remains, a sweet, enduring testament to the perseverance of the farmers, the success of the revival, and the unyielding sweetness of a heritage preserved.
This scent carries the spirt of Ahl Al-Thra—the people of the soil—and brings the revived hope of the Jadu’I watermelon into your space.

Watermelon is one of my favorite scents but it's so hard to find products where the watermelon doesn't get over powered by the other scents mixed with it. That is not the case with Watermelons of Jenin, the watermelon scent is so clean and fresh! I feel like watermelon is always going to have a slight candy tone to it since the actual smell of watermelon is so subtle, and while that is the case with this candle, it's the most subtle "candy" watermelon scent I've come across. If you like fruity, fresh, summery scents then Watermelons of Jenin is for you!
